Many of US search for belonging yet we are given only so many choices so as a special unification of ambitious 9-5 workers, we embarked on a search for the oasis we can feel at home to. Who are the Founding Members?
Herman Wong – Managing Partner
Born July 1st, 1980 in Hong Kong, Herman grew up in a traditional Chinese family with the typical Chinese parent-driven goals known to most old-fashion Asian families. At the age of Nine, his father immigrated to San Francisco for a short period of time before migrating south to Los Angeles with the vision of the “American Dream” for his child. As time progress along with the influence of the American sub-culture; Herman then choose to stray for the path his parent’s foresaw for their child and decided to pursue the career he wanted and in his own way. Herman’s ambition and goals evolved beyond any-type of “traditional” ways of success that was once preached by his parents.
At the age of 20, his promotional career started with Climax Entertainment which was as unknown company in the Los Angeles area at the time. During this era in his career he worked along side various school organizations and college culture groups producing massive special “18+” events while attending ITT Technical Institute and receiving an Associate Degree in Computer Networking Systems. In 2004, conflicts arose between the interests Herman and Climax Entertainment; in turn Herman decided to resign with Climax Entertainment and to start his own promotional company.
The new vision was to create a “new” type of nightlife experience, while trying to bridge the gap between Asian American entertainers with mainstream entertainment. After four years and multiple methods and ideas in trying to execute this feat, the greater Los Angeles area seemed unreceptive of the painting Herman was trying to create for the Asian American community. In 2009, it was realized that the methods and goals being used prove futile until a barriers were broken. We believe the roadblock was created by the lack of support and acknowledgement for our Asian American entertainers within our own community; due to our “traditional” upbringing. So in Late 2009, Herman then reunited with his old friends in Climax Entertainment whom share a similar goal and vision for the Asian American community and to help start, Founding Members which is dedicated to creating awareness and maximize support for every Asian American entertainer chasing after their own version of the “American Dream.”
Wil San – Partner, Director of Operations
Born December 6, 1983 in Los Angeles, Wil grew up in humble beginnings and with a strong Chinese influence in life, which extended into work ethics. Wil always worked hard and strived for the success for the Asian American entertainment industry for most of his life individually and now with the support of Founding Members. He attended California State University of Northridge and graduated with Bachelors in Marketing and Asian American Studies.
His promotion career started in 2006; with countless hours of hard work, dedication and willingness to learn he excelled in this industry. He earned the title of Partner/Director of Operations within Three short years. He started as a promoter with limited long term goals, but as time progressed and with guidance from his management, he realized the limitless potential and has then vowed to dedicate his time and resources to expedite the empowerment of the Asian community within mainstream U.S. Entertainment.
